The first sound that emerges the moment KPLC decide you don’t need electricity, or when your local MP opens his mouth, or the cop down the street pulls you over to discuss with you exactly how much sugar he likes in his tea.

"the Bomb" - minimalist reto design

Would you get past airport security wearing this tee? We think so, so we went ahead and made a t-shirt that’s simply “the bomb”.

10 years ago, this illustrated image would send you straight into the beautiful land of cartoons, where Jerry would plant a few of these under Tom’s milk bowl, and watch him “kabooom” into the next scene for yet another high speed full orchestra chase. Let’s get the grumps at TSA in the same spirit shall we?

Warrior Cow Leather

Bonk uses the finest unpolished natural Kenyan leather, from retired Warrior Cows. These brave bovines traveled thousands of miles through thorny acacia bushes under the scorching savannah sun. They watched their Maasai protectors fight off lions, hoping they’d win of course – lions do like beef around this time of year.

Upon retirement, the noble cows graciously offer their toughened hides to our master craftsmen for the afterlife.
Any scratches and visible wounds of battle on the leather are retained in their full glory, to honour their previous owners and the brave lives they lived. The leather is then lightly softened for a snug feel, yet still tough enough to withstand many years of battering in Nairobi’s crowded Matatus.

Traditionally, bamboo is famous for its structural use as a building material. It has recently made its way into the Bonk store as the soft comfortable fabric that makes our scarves. The scarves are made of pure bamboo yarn, which retains its magical antibacterial properties. Your neck will thank you.

The Design

The iconic high-contrast monochrome graphic of Che’s face has become one of the world’s most universally objectified images. The original image was snapped at a memorial service by newspaper photographer Alberto Korda.

Guevara’s motto, the Spanish phrase: “Hasta la Victoria Siempre” translates to “Until the Everlasting Victory Always”.
