They watched their Maasai protectors fight off lions, hoping they&#8217;d win of course &#8211; lions do like beef around this time of year. Upon retirement, the noble cows graciously offer their toughened hides to our master craftsmen for the afterlife. Any scratches and visible wounds of battle on the leather are retained in their full glory, to honour their previous owners and the brave lives they lived. The leather is then lightly softened for a snug feel, yet still tough enough to withstand many years of battering in Nairobi&#8217;s crowded Matatus.]]></description>
